As part of fitting out the open working areas with large-scale, textile acoustic equipment, unit-design expanded the signage system by room graphics. The drop-shaped technical cores at the heads of the working areas are completely covered by a noise insulation element and a textile print measuring approx. 100 m2. The total of 60 elements vary in colour and are designed with city themes that lend the nearest meeting point its name. The result is distinct orientation features and a sense of identity for this area’s working groups.

Production and assembly of the room graphics posed a huge challenge due to their dimensions: A total of 6000 m2 of textile print had to be applied to 63 different acoustic substrates, in just 5 weeks of night shift. The only way to achieve this was through meticulous planning preparation and production logistics that meant no trace of work could be seen when work commenced in the morning.
